Mr. Marketing™ markets great products and services, period—from business success products and services to lifestyle products geared to enrich your life. Its founder is Stephen L. Bainton. Prior to the formation of Mr. Marketing, Inc., Bainton was one of four parent-level executives to grow Continental Can from $293 million to $600 million in less than a decade, resulting in its sale to Suiza Foods (now Dean Foods) for $350 million. As CCC’s director of marketing, Bainton played a critical role in several senior secured note offerings, three acquisitions (U.S., Spain, Czech Republic), and the company’s listing on the NYSE. In sum, he participated in securing over $700 million through these various offerings. In addition, Bainton crafted and executed the company’s worldwide marketing strategy, including advertising, PR, special events, Web development, and multi-media campaigns—resulting in superlative placements, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Newsday, Fortune, Forbes, Barron’s, Financial Times, Industry Week, Wall Street Corporate Reporter, Chief Executive, the Associated Press, the cover of Greenwich Magazine, CNBC, CNN’s half-hour TV program (“Pinnacle”), and radio outlets throughout the country. Prior to CCC, Bainton was director of marketing at Ruder Finn, one of the nation’s most prestigious PR firms. There, Bainton wrote, directed, and produced a TV program with Advertising Age, “FastForward,” which featured British comedian John Cleese. Bainton graduated from the University of San Diego (B.A. English), and, afterwards, attended Columbia University, where he studied Screenwriting and Directing under the program’s head, Milos Forman (“Amadeus” and “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest”). Bainton has written how-to marketing, sales, and general business advice columns under Mr. Marketing ™ for over seven years; his most recent article is featured at StartupNation.com, one of the nation’s leading sites for entrepreneurs.
